The Diplomatic Missions of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan condemn and denounce in the strongest terms the despicable act of desecration of the Holy Quran outside the grand mosque in Stockholm, Sweden yesterday, 28 June.
Such disrespectful and disgraceful actions which promote hatred, racism, and discord and undermine efforts aimed at the promotion of universal values of peace, co-existence, and tolerance, can never be justified under freedom of expression.
It is essential that the international community and all Sates undertake necessary measures to prevent such horrendous acts of xenophobia and Islamophobia.
